Shopping Tutorial - 1. Checkout
This tutorial covers each step in the online shopping experience for a user who does not have an existing PayPal account and does not wish to sign up. Users with PayPal accounts will follow their usual procedures for making payments but may find the information on this page, in particular, helpful as it explains what happens on the spa/salon web site before reaching the PayPal web site.
The tutorial spans four pages - one page for each step in the shopping process:

Selecting an Item to Purchase
Click on the PayPal Buy Now button for the item you'd like to purchase. In this example, the individual "Beauty and the Body" spa package was chosen.
Checkout Page
After you click on the Buy Now button, you will be taken to our Checkout page. Here you will find a form to fill out specifying the information that you want entered on the gift certificate along with delivery options for the gift certificate. Note: You also have the option to enter a personal message on the certificate. You will be asked for this message on the PayPal site.

The gift certificate has areas to write your name and the recipient's name. Please fill out these two fields so that we may customize your gift certificate accordingly.
Gift Certificate Delivery
In this section, choose a delivery method for the gift certificate. You can have the certificate delivered to you or to the person you are giving it to.
The delivery options are:
- Regular mail: The gift certificate will be sent by regular mail. (free)
- Email: The gift certificate will be attached to an email as a PDF file that can be printed. (free)
- Pickup: The gift certificate will be picked up in person at our spa/salon. (free)
- Courier: Only available for addresses within Winnipeg city limits. Same-day delivery can be provided if sent before 1:00 p.m. ($10.00 fee)
To make alternate delivery arrangements, such as express mail, please place your order by phone.
Select a Delivery Method
The default delivery method is regular mail. To choose a different option, click on the button circled in red to display the drop-down list. For this example, the Courier option was chosen.
Shipping Address
If you have chosen regular mail or courier delivery, fill in the Shipping Address fields and skip the Email field. If you have chosen email delivery, only the Email field needs to be filled in. In this example, since the customer has selected the courier delivery option, all the fields except for the Email address field have been filled in.
- Full Name: name of the person to whom the delivery should be addressed.
- Address 1: primary street address
- Address 2: optional, supplementary address information
- City: city or town
- Province/State: province or state
- Postal/Zip Code: postal code or zip code
- Country: use the drop-down list to select a country
- Email: if the email delivery option was chosen, enter the email address here
Email Reminders
As a service to our clients, we can remind you in advance of an annual special occasion. To select this option, enter your email address.
Continue to PayPal
Once you've made all the required entries in the form, you're ready to proceed to PayPal to make your payment arrangements. Click on the Continue to PayPal button and you will be taken to the PayPal Billing Information page.
